25th Infantry Division (Light)

   & U. S. Army Hawaii

Dear Parents of the 25th:

It is with a great deal of pride and gratitude that I write this letter to you.  Your service and dedication to our great country is a living example for all of us.  You represent the very best that America has to give to the world.

I want you to know that Central Oahu School District stands behind you in the performance of your duty.  We will do everything in our power to maintain a high quality of educational services for your children during these uncertain times.  I fully realize that the role we play is critical to your family’s welfare.  Please be assured that we will perform our duty with the same pride and dedication that each of you demonstrate daily in wearing our Nation’s uniform.

The attachment entitled Leilehua Complex – Deployment Policy outlines the Attendance and Homework Policies that the Leilehua Complex Schools will be using during the deployment.  The policies are designed to ensure that there is consistency among the schools so that parents are not confronted with different expectations from different schools.

In addition, Leilehua Complex Schools will be sending surveys to their parents.  The purpose of the surveys is to determine the number of families that may be relocating, for a period of time, to the Mainland U.S.A. during the upcoming deployment.

As the deployment date draws near, your child’s school will be in contact with you through parent newsletters and in other forms of communication.  I want to assure you that our doors are always open to you.  Please feel free to call on us for help and support.

Allow me to take this opportunity to wish each and every one of you a very blessed and happy holiday season.

Sincerely,

Gary W. Griffiths

North Complex Area Superintendent
