COMPUTER LAB/HOMEWORK CENTER:
There is a designated area in each center where teens can use
state of the art computers to complete their homework, explore
the internet, play games or e-mail friends. CYBERsitter software
is installed on all computers to filter unwanted or
inappropriate sites. Parental permission forms must be signed
before internet access can be allowed. Assistance with homework
problems is also available from the computer lab instructor or
the youth center homework teacher.
RECREATION/LEISURE TIME:
Teen
and youth centers offer a variety of social and leisure time
recreation activities. Check the monthly calendar at each center
for details regarding dances, lock-ins, trips, holiday events,
craft projects, tournaments, sports activities, camps and much
more. A variety of table, board and video games are available at
each center. A daily USDA approved snack is served free of
charge each weekday. The MST program has a strong program
partnership with the Boys & Girls Clubs of America and
National 4-H.
LEADERSHIP/SERVICE:
MS/T
programs provide regular opportunities for youth to contribute
to the well being of their community and teen center through a
variety of volunteer community service and leadership
activities. These include Keystone and Torch Club leadership,

children during the summer day camp program at the School Age
Centers. The Sports Scorekeeper program allows teens to earn
money by working as scorekeepers during youth basketball games.
