Steps to Certification
1. Briefing for Applicants

Held monthly at either the Schofield Barracks or
2. Submit Applications
- Applications
are turned in on the day of the briefing
- Generally
processed within one week following the briefing
3. Background Checks
-
Investigations are completed on the applicant, military
sponsor, and children or any other authorized resident of the home 12 years of
age and older
4. Prescreening Interview
- Conducted
after favorable background checks are received and you have been assigned a
Family Child Care Director
- Director
conducts the interview with all members of the family to include the applicant,
sponsor, and all children residing in the home
5. Orientation Training
- You will
receive an invitation letter and schedule of classes
6. Prepare for Inspections

by Family Child Care (FCC) staff

8. Training Requirements

9. USDA Child Care Food Program Application
- Pre-certification
visit by USDA Nutrition Technician
10. Review of
Personnel File by:

11. Receipt of License to Operate

Provisional Certification signed by FCC Director and
Community Commander

Full Certification signed by Child and Youth Services
Officer and Community Commander
