Family Advocacy Domestic Violence & Child Abuse Sexual Assault Prevention & Response
Exceptional Family Member New Parent Support

Domestic Violence and Child Abuse
Victim Advocacy has evolved to be an advocate/expert voice in the community on behalf of victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. Its purpose is to enhance individual safety, build independence, preserve dignity and autonomy, and to provide the necessary support and information throughout the investigation, assessment, legal and case review process. This program is support by an organization of specially trained volunteers (under sexual assault) and professional staff under the supervision of ACS.

The program’s objectives are:
To increase victims’ awareness that safety is a top priority.
To support victims’ autonomy by empowering them to make right decisions relevant to their safety and welfare.
To support victims’ integrity by treating them as complete individuals and not simply "victims" of spouse abuse.
To provide victims with the support and information necessary to make positive choices for themselves and their children.
To offer an avenue for support and services (with restricted options) without initiating a police investigation
