Eligibility
Requirements
Blue Star Cards are issued to Spouses of
Soldier’s deploying to a location where they receive hazard duty pay for a
minimum of six months*. Cards will be issued beginning one month prior to the
Soldier’s estimated deployment date and are issued throughout the duration of
the deployment. Cards are valid from the day the Soldier deploys until the day
he or she returns. Spouses, dual military Families and Family Care Plan
providers are eligible for the program. This program is unique to Hawaii and
everyday benefits and special events can be used at all Army Hawaii
installations including Fort Shafter, Pililaau Army Recreation Center, Schofield
Barracks, Tripler Army Medical Center and Wheeler Army Air Field.
*Spouses of Soldiers deployed for less
than six months may also qualify. Please call 438-0376 to find out if you are
eligible.
Registration
To get your card fill out
the application online
or at Army Community Service.
Then visit ACS Monday
through Friday to take your picture and print your card. Please remember to
bring your military ID and a copy of your Spouse’s deployment orders.
ACS Hours of Operation:
Schofield Barracks: Monday
through Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., 655-4227.
Fort Shafter: Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. –
4:00 p.m., 438-9285.
Please note: card processing times vary at the Fort
Shafter location. Call for more information. Processing at Fort Shafter ACS is
temporarily unavailable. We apologize for any inconvenience.
